Maine Birch Vase - 2022

This vase is made from a piece of birch brought to my studio by an artist friend from Maine in late September 2022. It's a lovely form with three stout legs, finished in 4 applications of all-natural tung oil thinned with citrus solvent. This piece is turned from a section of the whole log, right through the center of the tree, giving you a view of its growth from sapling to storm induced fall.

10 1/2" tall, 5 1/4" in diameter.
