Samuel Leone Plein Air Paintings: Summer Landscapes

Artist, Samuel Leone will present a series of new plein air paintings in a two week pop-up exhibit titled “Summer Landscapes” from September 13 – 21. For two weeks only, the gallery at Main Street Studio will be filled with Leone’s summer skies, lazy river reflections, summer woods, fresh cut fields and winding country roads. We are thrilled to be able to present this special exhibition here in Charlton, Samuel’s hometown!

Many of the paintings in Leone’s 2025 “Summer Landscapes” series were created over the course of an immersive seven-week residency program at the Mount Gretna School of Art in Pennsylvania.

Leone painted daily from observation in the forested community just east of the Susquehanna River Valley of central Pennsylvania. Guided by renowned instructors such as Stanley Lewis, Rachel Rickert, Amy Erickson, Barbara Grossman, and Ken Kewley, Leone’s paintings capture not only the shifting light and atmosphere of place but also the intensity of an artist fully devoted to his daily practice.

All paintings in this exhibit will be for sale. If you are just discovering Samuel’s work, or have been following his developing career, this will be a special opportunity to enjoy and support this talented young artist.

Opening reception is on Saturday, September 13 from 5pm – 8pm.
